LAKE LANIER IS DOWN 2.4 FEET, THE CREEKS ARE SLIGHTLY STAINED AND THE MAIN LAKE IS CLEAR & 67 DEGREES.

Spotted bass fishing is good and the top water action will kick in any day as the fish are hungry. The fish have spawned and most of action will stay on the main lake points, breaks and humps where the fish are making their way out to for the summer. The bait is moving offshore and the fish are following. Top water soon but worms and jigs for another few days will be the ticket. Zoom’s finesse worms rigged on a 3/16 ounce Spot Sticker with the right color of green pumpkin will work. Also use the curly tail grub and the Zoom Fat Albert in a white or watermelon on the same Gamakatsu Round 26 jig head around rocks will work. Be patience but the fish are more aggressive mid day and later. Try the Strike King Bitsy Flip in the black and blue, brown or the green and brown color rigged with a brown, black, or green pumpkin chunk such as Zoom’s Super Chunk Jr. Try to focus on areas of post spawn and deeper water, such as points and reef markers.
