the other notable event of today's fishing trip was an equipment let down. when the Pflueger reels were reintroduced several years ago i bought one and loved it, and soon bought three more. about two years ago the honeymoon ended. the cast control mechanism in the trion came unglued where the spool was just free spooling. the drag on both summits and the supreme gave out where they just strip line when you set the hook on a fish. then finally this season the cast control on the supreme isnt working right. i can set it cast fine for 4 or 5 casts then backlash city. there is just no consistency with the braking systems function. now i take good care of my equipment, and ive got plenty of other reels that have seen many more years of use than the 10 or so years on the pfluegers with no issues at all, so after todays trip ive decided to replace the two summits and the supreme for sure. ive got a few reels in mind but id like to hear what everyone else would like to reccomend
