I have a Piranha Max 215 mounted on the dash and when I turn it on it finds the transducer but only the temp is displayed. I can access the menu and make changes to the settings therein. One day on the water it displayed erratic depth readings all the way up to 337+ feet even though I was only in about 60' of water. This was a one time deal though because shortly thereafter it went back to just showing the temp.
The transducer is a see thru-hall model that is solidly attached to the bilge. The temp wire is ran outside the transom. Connections appear to be solid.
I have searched the web and referenced the online user's manual but can't find anything about this specific behavior. Is the unit bad or the transducer? I have ordered a used replacement head unit (yet to be delivered) but I am thinking the issue is with the transducer.
