Evening folks!
Wanted to ask a question really early question concerning Winterizing!
I have no garage so the Boat is out in the weather all the time. Blue tarps are my storage area. I live in Central Alabama which can get real cold at times but doesn't stay that cold for that long a period of time. When do you folks usually drain the lower unit related to winter time issues. I assume that any water in the lower unit could present problems in freezing temps. Now I do plan on more winter time fishing this year than I have ever been able to do so I don't want to drain the lower unit after every trip either.
Years ago, I would drain the old Merc 20 hp fairly regular during the winter usage time but that lower unit hardly held any lube by comparison to the 150 Johnson. Anyway, just thinking out loud on the keyboard and wondering how you folks handle the issue when you can't store your rig in a garage or at least some type of inside storage?
