Up to this year I've never used any ethanol gas in my Yamaha Pro V engine. This year I've notice a different sound from the engine. I contribute it to the ethanol gas I have put in the boat tank. My Yamaha has the Precision Blend system, which requires no oil in the gasoline like old times. So, I tried something yesterday when I went to the lake. I added two quarts of Yamaha Lube TW-2 (older oil) to 10 gallons of gas. The engine sounded like old times. It also seems to run better...rpm that is.
With E15 just a few months coming, the solution to combat this may be to add three quarts of Marine Oil to every 10 gallons of gas.
