It is always a good idea to carry your cell phone with you in the boat. I'm sure some people leave it in their vehicle without giving it a second thought. This can be a lifesaver in the event of an emergency. You never know when an emergency may arise. You could witness a boat accident where someone is hurt and need to call for help. The ambulance or emergency vehicle could meet you at the boat ramp saving vaulable time.
You could break down on the lake. Or even have an emergency yourself.
I always carry mine, sometimes I leave it in one of the compartments, if I don't want to be disturbed.
