Hello, and thanks in advance for experienced advice!
My recently acquired project boat, a Champion 156, has a nasty chip/gouge on the bottom of the angled part of the transom. Looks like someone may have backed into something...? It's about 4 inches long and goes through the gel coat into the fiberglass. There are no visible stress cracks coming from it, the white lines in the photo are clear silicone. It had been repaired at some point and the repair came out. It was filled with some sort of solid hard filler and there are remnants of silicone as well.

What are the feasible options for a DIY repair? What about 3M 5200?

I'm a month into this one and I'm remembering why I swore 20 yrs ago I'd never have another project boat!!

Thanks again,
Jim
