long rods

Saw yesterday that BASS is changing their rules and in 2017 will allow rods up to to 10ft long. I understand the reasons behind why it was implemented, but do not see any good reason to change it personally. Will bass boats now grow well beyond 21-22ft now so the rod lockers will hold these...
