The help from a stranger saved the day!

His new boat did have a pump but it was being overwhelmed by no plug. Plus we were about 15 miles and two locks away from the ramp and trailer. We could have run with no plug because the waters gets sucked out but going through the lock takes about 15 minutes of just holding a rope while it...

The help from a stranger saved the day!

I was recently reminded of this when my neighbor's johnboat almost sank yesterday because his plug got caught on his dock line during a storm this weekend. I was in a tournament on Big "O" in 1994 in my buddie's new Bass Cat Pantera and the wind was brutal as usual so we went west through the...

New Truck. Hope it can tow the boat.

Hi there! Been a while I know. Had to finally toss out the 2004 Lariat last year and upgrade to avoid break downs especially while towing. Was able to get a nice deal on this 2019 Chevy LD with very low miles. Just a coincidence that it matches my boat. Hope you are all doing well and...

    Just want it gone!

Sorry for such a delay in replying. After that post I had 10 things going on at the same time including new tow vehicle for me and wife wanted new car too. After a Silverado and Volvo purchase, then a new AC, house painting and termites I'm never going to be able to retire! Plus she wants to...

    Just want it gone!

Yeah, it's me again after a long layoff. Been busy. So about a year ago in a big storm, a BPS 9 foot Bass Buddie type boat drifted across my lake to my dock. I pulled it out and the bottom of the hull looked like it was shot with 20 bullet holes. Due to the foam inside it never sunk but...

    Beer and Friends

So, had about $58 dollars in BPS points and they are ending the program on their Master Card. Went there with my wife Friday night to get a long handle boat brush for my boat and truck B4 they expire. We were greeted by an associate who said let's look up your old points. Within 5 minutes she...

Who can sleep night B4 fishing trip?

Back when I fished club tournaments, a lot of times there were only 5 or 6 cabins available at a fish camp and all our tourneys were 2 days so we had to stay over. With 30-40 guys we had to split rooms sometimes 6 each. The elders would play cards all night, the beer drinkers would party all...

Who can sleep night B4 fishing trip?

It was raining when I was ready to go so instead I made breakfast and took out my pressure cleaner and washed the boat and truck since they were already hooked up outside. Got everything shiny and Armoralled for the next trip. Then put back in the garage. Not what I had planned but something I...

Who can sleep night B4 fishing trip?

OK so I pulled he boat out yesterday after topping off my batts and ran it in the driveway on the hose to make sure it would start this morning. I planned on a short trip to the Glades to burn off some old gas and make sure everything works B4 I fish Thanksgiving week since I'm on vacation. No...

What Type of Cell Phone do you use and why?

So true GF. I think one of the biggest problems with society today is everyone is so too sensitive and with all the #movements we are dividing ourselves to the point of going backwards in being equal where we can never all get along in a democracy these days. What ever happened to "sticks and...

What Type of Cell Phone do you use and why?

I've got nothing to hide. They do allow me to access this site and that's all that matters!

What Type of Cell Phone do you use and why?

My company provides a new phone free every 2 years if it's only used for work and if for both work and personal use it's $10 from our paycheck monthly. So I chose an i7 Apple iPhone with unlimited text, calls and data. Can't beat that. It's paid directly with no statements or expense...

    Best Reel

For baitcasting, I grew up on round metal ABU Garcia's like the 3500 &4500 C's Indestructable and reliable. But when the palming low profile reels came out, I liked Lew's and still have a newer model that casts a mile and hasn't let me down. For spinning, have to say it's Shimano Spirex...

Choosing Fishing Line: Monofilament vs Braid vs Fluorocarbon

We all like different stuff based on our experiences. I know for sure none of it works when trying to haul a 5 lb largemouth out of a sunken grocery cart or Porch Carrera. Both of which happened to me. These canals down here are full of bass but also anything on wheels you want to make disappear!

Choosing Fishing Line: Monofilament vs Braid vs Fluorocarbon

I liked Stren Clear/Blue when it 1st came out in the '70s but that was when I was a kid and caught rainbows in Mi and Ga. it would cast a mile back then. Doesn't work well in Okeechobee or the urban canals here, too many snags. I did win a national contest in 1999 from Spiderwire and they sent...

Thank so Kev but I only know how to use 2 of those, never heard of most of them and will try to figure something out. I'm a dip when it comes to this stuff. But I can tear apart a vintage Abu Garcia round reel, clean it and make it work like new blindfolded!

Coffee is good on this Friday Morning ?

My charger has a battery recycle cycle that replenishes an older battery to full charge that seems t work but it takes like 36 hours to do it. It supposedly desulfates the battery and dissolves the deposits on the plates.
