How Good Are Quicksilver Hydraulic Jackplates?

Little known that Allison built a tunnel and a mod-vp back in tha late 60's and early 70's. Tha large tunnels come from Paul's true tunnel hull design which Darris later added tha center pod. It came directly from the V bottom. Don't think they got all worked up on 'em like they did with the V...

How Good Are Quicksilver Hydraulic Jackplates?

How much transom angle in relation to the bottom? Tried wedges to get a little extra neg trim? Never heard of that kinda problem. Is that hull that much different from the majority of mod-vp hulls? Just sounds strange...

How Good Are Quicksilver Hydraulic Jackplates?

Is this the hull offset to pad distance plus depth (to low) of offset your referring to? If so it can be vented fairly easy.........Couple of thru hull fittings and some hose placed in the right place. If you haven't thought of that already.

How Good Are Quicksilver Hydraulic Jackplates?

Looks like you have the better of the two built. Either way they are weaker than a ridged and most other hyd. plates. They have too many moving parts to wear and/or break for me. As for using one, that's just choice. With convenience comes the added weight, amp draw and taking up space.

Rumor mill also says its NOT interchangeable with other mids? Something about trim system interference. Don't know it for fact! Yeah, tha fewer holes on tha side go back ta tha 2.5 TM that worked really well for runnin' it higher than tha stock stuff....... Here's a thread on it...

    Rigging bullet 21xrd

Pretty much agree on TM. If for some reason it wants ta "blow out" with YOUR FISHIN' LOAD (might be lighter than some) ya can always have a cone added. Then you'll have tha best possible gear case on it...............

Flooding, bog, no hole shot. Reeds? Coils?

Would really like ta see tha "Bird". I did one similar years back. Was a '73 Formula. Painted it black too. After some pretty heavy "breathin' on tha 400 (had ta do tha "X" frame deal), trans and rear end it turned inta a very good ride!!! Oops, back ta subject. Sounds like ya got it handled...

Just removin' tha can and drillin' holes in tha down housin' don't do any "seat of tha pants" thing. It can be measured on tha real hot rods on tha clock, computer, aim etc. But tha sound can be/is deceiving. Tuners. He's kinda right. Tha only tuner change I've seen that you can notice right...
