I think you made a good decision, a buddy of mine had a Shadow with 200 Johnson looper and put the tuner on, while his boat was fast it was loud. He sold it to my neighbor who shortly after buying went back stock and enjoyed the quiet and no noticable loss of speed.
My electronics never ride on the boat nor stay in the truck outside. I purchased a cheap pistol case and cut the foam to fit so they are removed from the boat each trip and taken inside. All of mine are on quick connect RAM mounts.
Used to keep it in garage in SC, been ouside since moving to VA. Boat is fine but trailler is showing signs. I hope 2011 is the year of the garage finally.
Good to hear a review of the ratcheting ones from BPS. Been looking at them as I need to change the rod saver style ones that came on my boat new. They are beginning to show their age now and need to be replaced soon.
Thanks Remington, you were right on. The engine had sat up for six months prior to getting it mounted. it would start right up, idle nice and smooth but would not rev up.
When I ordered the correct champion plugs for it I also noticed the NGK plugs that were in it were also one heat range...
Love these if I worked on them all the time I needed one to store my 225 on for a few months till i sold my 150 so i built one.... stored it just fine for 6 months. Free to a good home if someone close needs one.
Agreed on the zero turn mower, best way to go but my wife insist that I let her mow, she likes the solitude and is off on wednesdays and fridays so she does all the mowing freeing me up for more fishing. I love my wife and John Deere.
Well I have thought about trading boats over the years, just cannot bring myself to do it. My old 20" 1990 Nitro still fits me pretty well. Just upgraded from XP150 to a 1995 Johnson Venom 225 that I am still sorting out the setup on. Planning some future updates on old faithful for now.
I do...
