Well, I can't speak for all of Mississippi, but I can certainly speak for the Northern part. Gonna be a bit confusing to figure out the spawn this year. With the weather going from 40's and 50's, to the 60's and 70's, and then back down again to the 30's, I think the fish will be just as confused as the anglers. There hasn't been any winter weather to speak of, but it has been cool enough to chill the water down. Now is the hard part, picking a week or weekend that the weather will cooperate. This past week was in the 70's almost every day. Come Friday night, dropped down to the freezing mark with a high Saturday of only 51. Now I'm not as young and crazy as I used to be, but knowing the area I was hoping to hit the water. But can't handle the cool weather like I used to. So once again, I'm waiting on warmer weather. February and March are usually good months to catch some very nice fish. This year, your guess is as good as mine. So all we can do is go by our instincts and hope for a bit of luck. But after all, "A bad day fishing, is better than a great day at work"! Best of luck to all of you for catching some phenomenal fish this season!!!
